Please don’t base this review on the hotel (Hotel was amazing). This review is for the restaurant (the lodge). I guess in my opinion, it’s pretty hard to screw up a freaking chicken sandwich. $12 is way too much for a sandwich that is drenched in mayo. I think the cook was feeling like a chef that day and decided to add freaking guacamole with the mayo. Thank god I did not get food poisoning and will not be coming back. And by the way, they ran out of everything apparently. My boi Eric wanted a sirloin steak and a corona but they “didn’t have it”.
I've stayed here several times over the last dozen years, and have always-- ALWAYS -- had an excellent experience. The facility is clean and strikingly constructed for beauty, function, and appropriateness to the area.
The rooms are ample and well supplied. Furniture and facilities are great.
They gave is an hour after checkout! So generous! Now if they'd only be as generous with the internet connection. 3 days without internet, and you can only cough up an hour after checkout! Shameful!
Great room with a jacuzzi and fireplace. Was disappointed that the hotel restaurant was closed and I had to drive to Aurora for food. Be sure to check your dining options.
Staff is courteous. Room and lobby areas are clean, smells like resort should, good food, bar, (and of course golf) etc. It's an absolutely wonderful place. I just wish it were a bit closer so I could go more often !
Great hotel in the north country especially if you're skiing at Giant's Ridge. Great cabin like feel to the rooms. Showing a bit of age but it's likely you won't be spending your day inside anyway.
